Alex Zanardi – Unstoppable

Alessando Zanardi, known as "Alex", was born in Bologna in 1966. He began racing karts in 1980 and made his debut in Formula 1 eleven years later with a Jordan. At the beginning of 1996 he "emigrated" to the USA to drive with the Ganassi team in the F-Cart series. He won two titles in a row in 1997 and 1998 and returned to the Grand Prix with Williams. In September 2001 he lost both legs in a crash in Germany. This was followed by rehabilitation and a return in March 2003 to the racetrack that was the scene of the accident.
He is married to Daniela and has a five-year-old son with her: Niccoló. A foundation under his name collects donations intended for children in need from all over the world.
